Which grace periods apply, and to whom?

BFSG recognises two main grace periods. For self-service terminals already lawfully in use before 28 June 2025, you may continue operating them until 28 June 2040 without retrofitting. For service providers delivering services using products already lawfully in use before that date, and for service contracts concluded before 28 June 2025, a grace period applies until 27 June 2030. If you enter into new contracts, bring new products to market, or launch a website after the deadline, you cannot rely on any of these grace periods – you must be accessible immediately.
