If you employ fewer than 10 people, your annual turnover or balance sheet total does not exceed €2 million, and you offer services exclusively without selling any accessibility-regulated products directly, then you are exempt from BFSG compliance requirements – and therefore do not need to publish an accessibility statement. If the exemption does not apply to you, a publicly accessible accessibility statement with contact details for accessibility feedback must be a core component of your online presence. Even if you are exempt from the legal requirements, implementing accessibility voluntarily can still be worthwhile: accessible shops demonstrably reach more users and appear significantly more trustworthy to many customers.
