Do I need to make my existing online shop accessible?

From 28 June 2025 onwards, BFSG requirements apply continuously to services like e-commerce – including your existing shop if you continue to operate it. However, there are exceptions: products already lawfully on the market before that date and service contracts concluded before 28 June 2025 benefit from a grace period until 27 June 2030. A newly launched or substantially redesigned shop, however, must comply immediately – there is no grace period. Checking your contract date and launch date helps you determine your exact obligations.
