What fines apply for failing to register under VerpackG or ElektroG?

Both laws impose substantial penalties. Under § 36 VerpackG, placing packaging on the market without registration at the Central Packaging Register and failure to report quantities constitute offences with fines up to €200,000 per case, as take-e-way sets out in their Packaging Act penalties overview. For the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), Germany's implementation of the WEEE Directive, Zenfulfillment notes that fines up to €100,000 per case apply for sales without a valid WEEE registration number. The two registers are separate but often cover the same products — such as packaged electrical goods — so UK sellers should check both obligations in parallel before selling via Amazon.de or FBA into Germany.
